April 2024 Qtum Development and Artificial Intelligence Updates

Qtum AI

The Qtum development team dropped a bombshell last month, onlining 10,000 GPUs to power an AI image generator called “Qtum Qurator” and an AI chatbot called “Qtum Solstice.” Both of these products are based on open-source models and are the debut product offerings found on the Qtum AI website

Artificial intelligence is the logical next step for the Qtum Foundation's foray into Web3. According to Qtum Co-Founder Miguel Palencia: "We have ambitious goals for AI, which will require a 3-stage rollout plan. Today, we are unveiling stage 1, the chatbot and image generator. The next two stages will include the modeling layer and finally the decentralized economy layer, which will blend everything together on the Qtum blockchain."

You can read more about this AI initiative on VentureBeat.

Qtum - Ethereum Bridge

Apart from AI, Qtum developers finished up the bridge between Qtum and Ethereum. This will allow us to release the Certik audit. Currently, the Team is testing functionality on an internal test environment and should have a public-facing testnet online in May.

There’s also a MetaMask Snap audit that was discussed in April and should start in May. We decided to build and audit a MetaMask Snap product simply because we know people are tired of having so many wallets installed and will likely ask for MetaMask regardless. For a sneak peek of what the bridge will look like, you can click here: Qtum Bridge just to check it out, but keep in mind it won’t be functional on a testnet until later this month.

Qtum BRC-20 and Ordinals Progress

We’re working to roll out a nice front-end for the Qtum BRC-20 and Ordinals integration. You can see the alpha version here: QBRC20 (qtum.info). This front-end allows you to create a QBRC-20 asset on Qtum, just like users do on Bitcoin.

One interesting thing to note is that Qtum may be the only blockchain with both ERC-20 and BRC-20 running natively on the same chain. Other projects that aren’t UTXO-based will have to modify the code to make it work or use some kind of layered approach, which isn’t really the same.

The Qtum developers will begin to research comparing ERC-20 and BRC-20 on the same chain to see what strengths and weaknesses each token standard brings when operating on the same blockchain. We may be the only project able to do this research, so stay tuned.

Web3 Festival

Once again, we attended the Web3 Festival in Hong Kong as a Platinum Sponsor and shared a booth with Moonland. From April 6 to 9, we showcased Qtum to everyone who turned up and saw many more cool projects.

Our co-founder Miguel Palencia delivered an inspiring speech about Qtum, the future of blockchain, and reimagining the Internet with web3 & AI.

Watch it here.

OOKC event

On April 17, we co-hosted an amazing event organized by OOKC Labs, Port3 Network, and CESS. With a large attendance of amazing like-minded people and projects, we can only say we had a great time.

Here’s a peek into the event.

That’s it for April. We had so much fun watching Qtum AI come to life and attending Web3 events. It seems like inspiration is flooding the industry, and we are happy to be a part of what’s to come for the future of blockchain.

Warm Regards, The Qtum Team.
