Qtum Bridge - USDC Incentivized Testnet Campaign
Community event: Phase 1 of 3
Start date: Friday, November 1st at 10 am ET
End date: Thursday, November 14th at 10 am ET
Many of you might know by now that the Qtum Team has developed and deployed a testnet bridge to the Ethereum blockchain. We also built a MetaMask Snap wallet so users and developers can have a familiar working environment when bridging assets between Qtum and Ethereum.
After auditing both the wallet and the bridge, we began internal testing and realized we could use some help from the community!
What will you do?
You will use the Qtum Testnet and Ethereum Testnet to move assets between chains using the Qtum - Ethereum bridge. Follow our socials and engage with the community.
You must use the Qtum MetaMask Snap and a series of testnet faucets. Tasks will be delivered daily through an event website. Participate daily to build up your points and get a larger percentage of the airdrop.

Quick-start video: .
The Bounty:
The Qtum Foundation has agreed to fund a series of short community test events with 8,000 Qtum tokens to help us better prepare for a mainnet deployment. (EVERYONE can participate.)
This first event will pay 3000 Qtum tokens, divided amongst users who participate in the event. The duration of the event will be 2 weeks.
We will distribute the Qtum reward tokens from this Qtum address: Qbridge3NmHwp9kvycSuHutKBSbJ5HX2SG
Requisites:
Please keep in mind that the first phase of this event has been designed to be “easy” so that people new to the crypto community can participate.
No coding experience or advanced knowledge of blockchain technology is required.
You need a browser that supports the MetaMask extension.
Memecoins Reward
Once the first phase of the event concludes, we will also airdrop Qtum Mainnet QRC-20 memecoins to the community testers, which will be used in the upcoming community events.
These coins will be sent to the exact same Qtum Mainnet address used to participate in the event, so make sure you hold onto your Qtum MetaMask Snap wallet – you will need it later!
Note
We’re hoping to put as much traffic as possible onto the bridge to monitor its speed, stability, and security. We also plan to monitor Discord conversations to see if people are struggling with or liking the interface and wallet.
Community Testers will need to interact with a series of tools to participate. We will do our best to give detailed instructions on how to use each tool.
The Qtum Bridge Consists of 3 Main Components
Circle’s “Bridged USDC Standard” set of smart contracts. These contracts control the burning and minting of USDC when it is bridged between EVM-capable blockchains. To read more about this initiative, please see here: Introducing Bridged USDC Standard (circle.com)
Qtum MetaMask Snap wallet. Consensys offers a template for blockchains that want to deploy their own flavor of MetaMask. Once audited by an approved company, Consensys will consider listing a project’s Snap on their “Snap Directory,” which they recently did for Qtum! Qtum Wallet on the MetaMask Snaps Directory
Qtum Bridge. A bridge is required to move USDC and other ERC20/QRC20 assets between chains. The Qtum team developed a bridge to do just that and had Certik audit it. This bridge communicates with the Circle contracts and uses the wallet to communicate with dApps and contracts. To view the bridge: Bridge (qtumbridge.org)

Community Event Subcomponents:
You must interface with these subcomponents to complete the tasks you receive each day. Most of these tools will be familiar.
Qtum Testnet Faucet
This service simply sends you Qtum Testnet tokens. Faucets have been around for over a decade now, and they serve to send testnet tokens to anyone who wants to develop services for a particular blockchain without wasting their mainnet tokens paying for gas.
Simply paste your Qtum Testnet address (from your Qtum MetaMask Snap wallet) into the faucet and wait for the tokens to arrive. You will use these tokens to participate in the daily tasks you receive.
Sepolia (Eth Testnet) Faucet
Ethereum Sepolia Faucet (google.com)
There are many Ethereum Testnet (Sepolia) Faucets. You can simply Google for them if you don’t want to use the one suggested in this document. When you are bridging assets back and forth, you will require some Ethereum Sepolia tokens to pay for gas on the Ethereum Testnet.
This faucet will work just like the Qtum Faucet; simply put your address in and wait for the testnet tokens to arrive. ( You need to have a Google Account)
Circle Testnet Faucet
We want to include this stablecoin in the event to test the Qtum implementation of Circle’s “Bridged USDC Standard.”
Qtum Testnet Block Explorer: testnet.qtum.info
Ethereum Testnet Sepolia Explorer: TESTNET Sepolia (ETH) Blockchain Explorer (etherscan.io)
The sum of all transactions makes up a blockchain, and the block explorer’s job is to prove the public ledger adds up. Make sure that you’re checking your Qtum testnet wallet address in the explorer to ensure your transactions are taking place. If you’re not seeing any activity, then you know there’s a problem. No other activity is required on your part. These services exist just to show you during the event that your transactions are taking place.
Community event FAQ
Q1: What is the Qtum Bridge - USDC Incentivized Testnet Campaign?
A1: It's a community event where participants test the Qtum-Ethereum bridge by moving assets between Qtum Testnet and Ethereum Testnet. The campaign aims to test the bridge's speed, stability, and security.
Q2: How long does the event last?
A2: Phase 1 of the event will last for 2 weeks. Starting on Friday, November 1st at 10 EST.
Q3: What's the reward for participating?
A3: The Qtum Foundation is offering 3000 Qtum tokens for this first event, which will be divided among participants. Additionally, Qtum Mainnet QRC-20 memecoins will be airdropped to community testers after the event concludes.
Q4: Do I need coding experience to participate?
A4: No, coding experience or advanced knowledge of blockchain technology is not required.
Q5: What equipment do I need to participate?
A5: You need a browser that supports the MetaMask extension.
Q.6 Can I use my mobile to participate in the Testnet Campaign?
A.6. You can’t participate with a mobile phone simply because Qtum Metamask Snap Wallet doesn’t exist on mobile.
Q7: What dApps will I need to use?
A7: You must use the Qtum MetaMask Snap wallet, testnet faucets for Qtum and Ethereum (Sepolia), and the Circle Testnet Faucet.
Q8: How do I receive tasks for the event?
A8: Tasks will be delivered daily through the event website.
Q9: How can I increase my chances of getting a larger reward?
A9: Participate daily to build up your points and get a larger percentage of the airdrop.
Q10: Where can I find support or engage with the community during the event?
A10: For community engagement and support, join the Qtum Discord or Telegram or follow us on Qtum Twitter.
Q11: What should I do with my Qtum MetaMask Snap wallet after the event?
A11: Keep your Qtum MetaMask Snap wallet. You will need it later to receive the meme coin rewards. Make a backup of your wallet so your coins will be safe.
